Giniegum was created by myself, my husband and my daughter Sophie in 2009.   Sophie's nursery ran a competition over the spring break for the children to create something egg like.  We as a family were off to Aviemore on our family holiday and took materials and paint with us and we created a 4 foot green eggstaterrestrial and Sophie, who was 4 years of age at the time, named it Giniegum.    We had so much fun creating Giniegum and on the way home there was even more hilarity when we put Giniegum in the back seat of our car and people were looking in the window with very confused looks on their faces.  After the competition was over and we took Giniegum home,  Sophie would dress up in her costumes and make up adventures that she and Giniegum would go on and this is what inspired me to start writing about their adventures.
